One of the most common soil erosion prevention methods is vegetation. It is the simplest and most natural way to prevent erosion control through planting vegetation. Plants establish root systems, which in turn, stabilizes the soil, preventing erosion.

Erosion control is one of the biggest concerns for many large construction projects . Multiple factors can cause erosion, and every situation calls for specific solutions based on the site and the severity of the problem. Controlling erosion is important not just for preserving the construction site and protecting the new structure but also for minimizing the environmental impact that the project has on the surrounding area. Erosion control measures can add significantly to the project cost, and manufacturers are continually developing innovative products to minimize cost as well as environmental impact.

I am confused with the  question. Is it really erosion you are asking about or corrosion? For your information, corrosion means rust in the metal.

Strip Cropping.
Planting Vegetation. The simplest yet most effective method of water erosion control is to plant more vegetation.
Laying Down Mulch. Laying down mulch has always been great for growing crops and other vegetation, but it can also be used to counteract the effects of water erosion.

Some water treatment equipment such as softeners and aeration systems can aggravate corrosion. Softeners remove the protective calcium and magnesium and introduce highly conductive sodium or potassium into the water and reduce total hardness.
